All-Star Teams

Forwards:

  • Mario Portillo- Most prolific player to wear the uniform.  Set school records for goals, assists, and points.  Made all-conference and all-region for three years.
  • Joe Piacesi- Fastest player I have ever coached with an excellent left footed shot.  Made all-conference and all-region three years; He also set school records and made all-state his senior year.  Known for his touchy sense of inappropriate humor.

Midfielders:

  • Avery Treat- A four-year starter, two-time All-Conference and All-Region.  Two year captain.  Known for beautiful shots that just hit the post.
  • Luis Martinez- Perhaps so quiet you didn’t know he was there.  One of the most talented players to ever attend QG. All-Conference and All-Region his senior year.
  • Noah Parker- 2 time all-conference/all-region.  Held the record for assists in a career when he graduated.  A very “pretty” player.
  • Sam Houser- Solid leader and captain his senior year.  Two time All-Conference and All-Region.

Defenders:

  • Conor Chambers-First four-year starter for the team.  A very intelligent player who was a solid defender and played bigger than his size.
  • Jordan Trakas-The silent leader that provided pace and aggressiveness to the 2016 team.  2016 season was bar far his best due to the fact that he never injured himself attempting some off-field stunt.
  • Pedro Mancebo-known for his physicality.  Pedro was a State Games member his senior year.  Made All-Conference/All-Region his junior year.  He helped anchor the 2016 team on their deep run into State Play-offs.
  • Alex Ramsey- Made all-conference his Senior year when he had 2 goals and 8 assists as a center back.  Captained a team that ended the season winning 12 of their last 16 and making it to the third round of states.

Goalies:

  • Jose Duarte-First player to be put on the list during his playing years.  Made all-conference/all-region his first year on the team and set all school goalkeeping records.  How many clutch saves did he have against East Meck, Gray Stone, Atkins, and Bishop McGuiness.  He matched that with an All-State season his senior year, leading the team to wins over Forest Hills and Union Academy.

International Team:

Forwards:

  • Kato Capuzzi (Liberia) Holds records in goals per season and career.
  • Pedro Portillo (El Salvador) Holds the record for points in a season.

Midfielders:

  • Mario Portillo (El Salvador):  Listed here in his natural position.  Known for his beautiful 1vs1 ability and precise passing
  • Jaime Escobar-Membrano (El Savador) No player has come through with the individual skill set that Jaime has.  Still remembered for being able to juggle the ball over 500 consecutive times as a Freshman.
  • Luis Martinez:  (Mexico) Remembered for making the game look easy.  A real smooth player that would pass up opportunities if they came to easy.
  • Andre’ Septimio: (Brazil/Italy) Known for screaming, “Oh, my GOSH!!” and bringing back the ghost of Boyarskiy’s “Are you kidding me!”

Defenders:

  • Pedro Mancebo (Dominican Republic): All-conference/region his Junior year.  Played injured his senior year.  Nicknamed “the wort.”

Goalies:

  • Jose Duarte (Mexico): I still blame him for the US national team’s loss in Columbus (2016).

  4. Beating Charlotte Christian 1-0 at Christian in 2011.

  6. Trouncing Gray Stone 4-1 to win our first against our rival and securing 2nd place in the conference.
  7. Tying East Mecklenburg on second half goals from Noah Parker and Joe Piacesi.
