More ID camps

On January 27th, 2019, Winthrop University’s Men Soccer program is hosting an ID Camp for all high school soccer players. As a staff, we would personally wish to invite your players to our 2019 Winter ID camp. Your players will learn firsthand about what it takes to play at the next level and this is a great opportunity for them to showcase their abilities in front of college coaches in a collegiate training environment. We take pride in our ID camps and use it as a great tool for recruiting. We currently have eight players on our roster who have attended our ID camps, and are looking to add more. I understand that every high school soccer player does not want to pursue college soccer, however we would appreciate that you would pass this along to your players. If you have any questions regarding the ID camp, click the link below or send me an email.

ID Camp Link: http://www.winthropsoccercamps.com/

Hi Coaches,

I wanted to provide you with information for our upcoming College Soccer ID Camp on January 26th (Boys) and January 27th (Girls). I understand that many of your players may be interested in participating. If you could share the link below with your players as it is a great opportunity for college exposure:

Last year we had over 40+ Division I, II, and III soccer programs at the event. The college coaches will be running the sessions, which will allow the players to interact with the coaches and get a feel for who they are. The games will also be filmed if players have an interest in creating a highlight video from the event.

Registration is available to 8-12th graders for girls and 9-12th graders for boys, but we will be putting a cap on the number of players so that each player receives proper exposure.

For more information, I have attached a flyer for the event.

December ID camp opportunity

As a North Carolina University, our goal is to continue to recruit the best players in the state and we believe that you may have the players that we are looking for. I personally wish to invite your players to our 2018 Winter ID camp. Your players will learn firsthand about what it takes to play at the next level, and this is a great opportunity for your players to showcase their abilities to college coaches in a collegiate training environment. Over the past 3 years, we have signed nine players from our Winter ID Camps. They have all been a part of our winning program here at Chowan University and we look to add more this year.

The cost of the camp is $95 and each player will receive a camp T-shirt and evaluation,

Fundraiser Opportunity

Our scheduled date for the Panthers is 12/2, but we had some people cancel on us for this weekend's home opener.  As I've shared in the past, here is the link for the sign up.  If you sign up you will be sent further, more detailed instructions for the event.  Each worker earns $70 to go directly to their team's account.  This has been a huge success for us, but if we come up short on numbers we don't earn the full amount.  If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to ask.  Those of you that have not participated before, please contact Coach Kerr tonight at the game.

Notes:

  1. We had three players join the team last week so that gives us enough for a JV squad.  We hope to get all their paperwork in so that we can play the match this Thursday.
  2. Gear orders are going out today-Tuesday.
  3. The first fundraiser is finishing up this week.  We have already raised enough to get the sound system and I-pad.  We should have some left over to help the boys get long sleeve white shirts.  Our next fundraiser is in December with the Panthers.
  4. Please remember that if you are interested in going to the Independence game, money needs to come in for the tickets.

Player Eligibility part II

Parents,

We are beginning 4th quarter, and it is a great time to discuss grades with your son.  Please remember that to be eligible for next season your son needs: to maintain a 2.0 for second semester (the average of 3rd and 4th); pass 5 of 6 classes on the year; have no more than 12 absences for second semester; and be promoted.  End of the Course exams count for 20% of the year grade, but do not impact semester averages.  Most teachers have a schoology account provides information on homework, and grades should be posted in powerschool.  If you cannot access powerschool, you will need to speak with Mrs. Ramsey; however, your child and your child’s teachers should be able to help you with schoology.  We have a chance to compete for both a conference and state title next year, but we only have that chance if our players meet the standard.  All teachers offer tutoring at some point during the week and are on campus until 3:15.
